Summary
Pulmonary, Part 1 provides an in-depth review of pulmonary assessment techniques, including lung sounds, diagnostic tests and arterial blood gas interpretation. Additionally, this module provides a review of oxygen delivery devices, managing oxygenation and ventilation, and noninvasive positive pressure ventilation. Management of the following disorders are reviewed: pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary emboli, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, acute respiratory distress syndrome and pleural space abnormalities, including pneumothorax and hemothorax. Nursing priorities for managing post-pneumonectomy and post-thoracotomy are also included. Within each topic, you will explore assessments, interventions and potential complications.
