Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes
During the COVID-19 outbreak, standard methods for treating patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome were used. One treatment method involves placing patients prone to improve oxygenation and reduce mortality risk. Challenges in preventing pressure injuries in patients placed prone are reported. This study explores the association between a certified wound and skin care nurse on a multiprofessional pronation team leading the care team and prevention of pressure injuries in COVID patients.Learners must complete the entire activity and the associated evaluation to be awarded contact hours AND read Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes. No partial credit will be awarded.
