Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

Learn how cardiology advanced practice providers incorporate portable cardiac ultrasound and the cardiac limited ultrasound exam (CLUE) into practice to guide bedside clinical decision-making and assist with diagnosis, prognosis and patient management. Utilization of portable ultrasound has a potential to reduce delays in diagnosis and need for formal echocardiography. Though advanced topics of echocardiography imaging are discussed, attendees of all backgrounds are welcome.

Objectives

  • Illustrate the efficacy and benefits of point-of-care bedside ultrasound (POCUS) use in the inpatient setting.
  • Describe the key components of the cardiac limited ultrasound examination exam (CLUE).
  • Identify the key steps required to train cardiac advanced practice providers to use portable cardiac ultrasound and the CLUE protocol.
