Activity Summary

ABCDEF Bundle has proven to offset the effects of Post-ICU Syndrome (PICS). This community-based hospital chose to implement components of the bundle, including a PICS clinic and intensive care unit (ICU) support group. This intermediate session is intended to provide strategic pearls gleaned, share perceived and actual barriers, methods utilized to overcome those barriers and the desire to encourage others to embark on a similar journey.

Objectives

  • Identify strategies to support, develop and implement evidence-based cultural shift towards intentional care in critical care areas.
  • Describe various inter-professional strategies and processes to facilitate evidence-based care in non-academic community-based hospital.
  • Utilize case study to show benefits of initiating inter-professional processes to enhance intentional inside/outside critical care areas.
