Project Goals/Objectives

  1. To improve patient outcomes by decreasing CAUTI rates
  2. To empower staff through education of catheter risks and proper management
  3. To standardize catheter use and care
  4. To increase unit awareness about CAUTI by establishing CAUTI champions

Project Outcomes

  1. Reduced the incidence of CAUTI by 92 percent
  2. Educated 91 percent of unit staff on catheter risks and proper management
  3. Established 25 CAUTI champions to increase unit awareness about CAUTI
  4. These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $76,043.
