Project Goals/Objectives

  1. To reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers in the ICU
  2. To educate nurses on the Braden Algorithm and Skin Care Protocol
  3. To introduce new hydrocellular foam dressings

Project Outcomes

  1. Decreased pressure ulcers more than 50 percent
  2. Received Value Analysis Team approval for hospital-wide use of new dressings based on project data
  3. These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $582,930.
