Project Goals/Objectives

  1. To improve patient and family communication at the bedside
  2. To improve patient and family satisfaction
  3. To improve nurse-to-nurse accountability and consistency of care

Project Outcomes

  1. Reduced CVICU average length of stay (LOS) 0.07 day
  2. Reduced CICU average LOS 0.34 day
  3. These outcomes resulted in actual quarterly savings of $541,765,* with a project annual fiscal impact of $2.1 million.

Other factors may have contributed to decreased length of stay over this time period.
