Stephen Holman

Stephen Holman, MSN, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, CCRN-CSC-CMC, serves a three-year term as a director on the AACN Certification Corporation board of directors from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027.

Holman is a nurse practitioner (NP) in cardiothoracic surgery at VCU Health in Richmond, Virginia. His professional focus is providing exceptional bedside care as an acute care NP, especially in the area of patient safety. He recently won three safety awards, including one from the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association.

In his volunteer work for AACN, Holman has served on the AACN - AACN Certification Corporation Nominating Committee, NTI Program Planning Committee and multiple other committees related to cardiac surgery certification and cardiac medicine certification. Holman also wrote items for AACN’s ECMO Micro-Credential. In addition to AACN, he belongs to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Extracorporeal Life Support Organization and Sigma Theta Tau.

He earned a Master of Science in Nursing at University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Radford University, Radford, Virginia.

Born in Racine, Wisconsin, Holman is a passionate Green Bay Packers fan who enjoys mountain biking.
